Replacing water line in the door of an lg refrigerator

It is crucial to note that you will need to connect a water line to operate the automatic icemaker and water dispenser. Make sure your refrigerator is close by or in proximity for you to be able to connect your water line. Please note, if you need to modify the water supply, we strongly recommend you contact a qualified plumber.

Connecting your Water Supply

Water Supply Side

You will need to connect a standard water line tube to your water supply.
Specifications are as follows:

1. This water line should be a diameter of 1/4 inches.
2. 20 - 120 psi / 138 - 827 kPa

You will most likely need to install a connector or an adapter to your water supply. Please note that the water line installation is not covered by the refrigerator warranty.
After installing the water line to the water supply, turn the water on and flush out the tubing. Simply then turn the water supply back off.

Certain models will also require an external water filter, please check your manual and figure if this applies to your refrigerator. You may want to check out our video on how to change the water filter if you need further assistance.

Water Line to the Refrigerator

Make sure you are using a standard water line tube. If you have different size or type of water line, you will need to use an adapter or connector.

1. Remove the flexible plastic cap from the water valve.
2. Place the compression nut and ferrule that came with your unit to the water line.
3. Insert the end of the water line into the refrigerator connection as far as possible.
4. Tighten the compression nut until it feels secure. And turn the water supply on.

If there are any leakage, tighten any connection accordingly.
