The answer to your second question is over $5000. Do you still want the (much longer) answer to your first question?

The answer to your second question is over $5000. Do you still want the (much longer) answer to your first question? Well, if he just strictly wants them to fit, I'm sure I could make it happen on 3" of lift with some persuasion from BFH, sawzall, and angle grinder. Joined Oct 25, 2004 · 4,016 Posts
This should get interesting. Joined Jun 30, 2010 · 180 Posts
Just remember, where there's a will there's a way. I wise man once told me "if it doesn't fit get a bigger hammer, if it still doesn't fit you've got electrical problems." I had to get real aggressive with mine at 3" to fit 33's. BFH and trimming

Plus re gearing. That's expensive Joined Apr 28, 2008 · 5,262 Posts
At least he'll only have to regear the front axle. The rear axle will just have to be replaced entirely. Joined May 25, 2011 · 1,244 Posts
At least 6" of lift and some cutting should do it. Joined Jun 30, 2010 · 180 Posts
Iceland Offroad claims 35x12.5 on 4" of lift. If it can be done with the flares it can be done without............ Joined Oct 25, 2004 · 4,016 Posts
It all boils down to how much metal you want to trim. I'm at 5" lift, run 35's, and probably have enough clearance for 37's.

depends on what lift company you go with im going with IRO so i can fit my 35s..here the list of stuff i ordered -6.5inch coils i only trimmed my front fenders and left
the rear untouched because with the adj. rear CAs i can push my axle back heres my setup now with 4 inches of lift trimmed front fenders and 32s
heres volcom02wj's jeep with 6.5 inches of lift and 35s i asked him alot of questions on his setup so i decided to run the same as he is but i will have IRO's new adj. A-arm while he still has the stock a-arm with the spacer

woops i forgot the most important part of having a 4.0 on 35s!! you need to swap in a dana44a from the v8s and shorten your DS ..i am still looking for a dana44a thats a good price because most of them range from 500 dollars or more USED also you are going to need to regear your axles to 4:56 ratio or you could go in the other
route and swap in axles like... JK Rubi Dana 44s front and rear or i believe some people run a Dana44 front and Ford 9inch rear from f250s? also you have to buy bracket kits ..strip off the old brackets and weld the WJ bracket kit to the new axles Joined Sep 16, 2010 · 1,488 Posts
Don't shorten the drive shaft when the axle pushes out it will pull the shaft out Joined Apr 1, 2011 · 871 Posts

Agreed, I've been running 35s with my 4.0 for a good while now... even drove accross country with it Ohio > California. I am regeared to 4.88s with a D44a out back. 35s are not that hard to fit, especially with 4+ inches of lift... if you are willing to trim you can fit them. When I run no sway bars I still rub sometimes at full lock when
flexing out... something I need to adress now that I think of it, more BFH love. Just look at other peoples builds and decide how much you want to spend and go from there... Joined Sep 16, 2010 · 1,488 Posts

It's always nice to hear from someone who is actually running them and not assuming things as from above. Joined Jan 8, 2007 · 703 Posts
I have no issues with it... The jeep actually has more power with 35s and 4.88s than it did when I was running 31s and 3.73s. I towed a trailer with my bike on it cross country and it did fantastic. Gas mileage didnt change really either, just as crappy as with stock gearing haha. So far I havnt destroyed anything in my driveline but my front drive
shaft... and that was due to it being a Rzeppa, so I knew that would happen... just happened much faster than I had hoped! I say go for it, I love the look of 35s on the Grand. Will 31 tires fit on a stock Jeep Grand Cherokee? You can run 31s on stock rims with no issues unless stuffing. However the rub is minimal. With stock rims you will however rub the lower control arms at a full turn of the front wheels.
