Saturday I'm taking my wife to school and does it again then it completely looses power and no acceleration what so ever pull over restarted it and drove home bogging but didn't die on me. I put my predator and I get 3 crankshaft sensor codes so I research and see threads saying that's cause if it so I think something simple to change and I'm so wrong looks like I have to take of my whole truck apart ??? anybody done it before that can shim in??? I read I have to take starter of to get to it any help would be appreciated

I to have had to replace one and it's very easy. Just don't force the sensor out or it will break. It's located on rear passenger side just above oil pan.

This sensor shouldn't cause any driving / performance issues, correct??? I thought it only comes into play when the engine is cranking on a start....

I think it would. I had my timing chain tensioner come apart and it threw a code for camshaft/crankshaft being out of phase. Kept going into limp mode.

The computer uses the crankshaft position to determine when to fuel the appropriate cylinders and when to fire the spark plugs. A bad sensor will more than likely cause it to run real bad or stall right after firing up.
