 Show 2.0 out of 5 stars Directions are incorrect Had it not been for other reviews, I would have not been able to open thelock for the first time. On my set of directions, it says to move the combination to L-O-C-K. Well, there are only numbers on the dials, no letters. I thought maybe they meant the equivalent letters to numbers like on and old phone. Nope. Didn’t work either. No indication or clues what L-O-C-K meant on the combination. Before trashing it, I checked the reviews. Someone had posted that the release combo is 0-0-0-0. It worked. I don’t understand why the directions don’t say that. Instead it is the incorrect combination. Relieved for the other reviews.Now that the silly thing is open, I have to say that the combination wheels are really difficult to turn. They have to be pushed in and forced or they won’t turn. Not so great for someone with arthritis. I was excited about the look of this lock, especially since it had a combo rather than a key, which I worried I’d lose, and since the combo faced down for more weather resistance. Alas, I’m not impressed with the difficulty of turning the combo wheel and the erroneous directions. It is slightly stiffer but that's to be expected having survived a few Canadian winters completely exposed. I once bought an alternative "weatherproof" lock that rusted in a few months... Is there a way to reset a Master combination lock?Resettable combination locks have a combination that is assigned by the owner of the lock. Therefore, Master Lock does not have record of the combination that the owner set. The lock cannot be reset unless it is in the open position. If your lock is attached to something, you will need to call a locksmith for removal.
