Pokémon: Shining Fates, and its lead chwracter, shiny Charizard. Show Pokémon: Trading Card Game's latest set, 'Shining Fates' is finally out, bringing with it a whole load of new, shiny Pokémon to collect. As with most sets recently, Shining Fates is under incredible demand, with most stores selling out long before the set ever even hit shelves. The reason for that is two-fold: first, Pokémon is at an all-time high at the moment, with anything with a Pokeball on getting bought up super quickly. Secondly, Shining Fates has some super high-value cards hidden within it, with some cards selling for well over $500. If you managed to grab a pack of Shining Fates, here are the most valuable cards you should be looking out for. Keep in mind that set prices fluctuate a whole lot in the days and weeks after a set comes out. Cards that are worth a lot now may not be worth that same amount in the future, so make sure you keep an eye on aggregate sites like Dawnglare or TCGPlayer before buying or selling. Shining Fates Charizard VMAX The Pokémon CompanyHolo Charizard VMAX (SHF SV107) - $664 As with almost any set ever, Charizard is the one everybody wants. In Shining Fates this is even moreso, as his Shiny (alternative color schemes Pokémon have a very slim chance of appearing in sometimes) is one of the most popular in the whole series. Pull a Charizard VMAX and you're looking at well over $600. Skyla The Pokémon CompanyHolo Skyla (Full Art) - $95 The value drops off pretty sharply after Charizard, but at $95 a pop, Skyla is still a pretty great find. Shining Fates features full-art reprints of a number of popular Supporter cards (including a few new ones), with Skyla being the most sought-after of the lot. Lapras VMAX The Pokémon CompanyHolo Lapras VMAX - $75.39 Lapras takes the third slot, with one of these being worth around $75. While the value is more to do with Lapras being a much-loved Pokémon, its attack is also not one to sniff at, dealing 30 damage for each Water energy attached to it. Eternatus VMAX The Pokémon CompanyHolo Eternatus VMAX - $64.85 Look, I know people love Charizard, but I do think the Shining Fates Eternatus VMAX is probably the best-looking card in the entire set. With a bold etched black and gold style, it's visually striking and a good representation of Pokémon Sword & Shield's most dangerous Pokémon. It also works great for Dark-type decks by letting you put up to eight on your bench, and dealing damage multiplied by how many dark Pokémon you have in play. It’s worth noting that in European markets Eternatus VMAX is selling for almost double that, easily selling for well over £100 on Cardmarket. Ditto VMAX The Pokémon CompanyHolo Ditto VMAX - $57.99 In the fifth spot, it's everyone's favorite little blob, Ditto. Blue this time, rather than its default pink, Ditto VMAX is worth almost $60. Its attack lets you copy and use your opponent's Pokémon's attack, which, while highly circumstantial, could result in some massive damage. Nobody wants this for the attack though, they want the adorable blobby Ditto friend. After that, prices begin to fall off quite rapidly. Galarian Rapidash is $45.73, holo Grimmsnarl VMAX is $45.49, and full-art holo Poké Kid is $44.57. Even the other Eternatus, holo Eternatus V, is only around $40. The Alcremie VMAX secret rare is a whopping… $15.11, and the new Amazing Rare Yvetal is just $12.65. Shining Fates is still a really good set if you can get your hands on it, but if you were hoping to flip them for profit, your only real chance is pulling that shiny Charizard VMAX. Maybe don't horde all the stock and let other people enjoy this one, eh?
