There are multiple shift solenoids, and all are located in the valve body of the transmission. To access the valve body, you have to remove the side cover of the transmission. This is not easily done for an inexperienced person. You have to remove the subframe after suitably supporting the engine and transmission with a fixture. Then you can lower the trans down a bit to get the entire side cover off and access the valve body where the solenoids are located. GM Dealer Technician For 18+ Years
