Creamy, dreamy, with a pinch of salt. Raw Hawaiian macadamia nuts give this historically almond based syrup a nice light versatile flavor profile. We have used this with every spirit from gin to mezcal to well, of course, rum.

Hello Experts! I'm on the hunt for some decent pre-made macadamia nut orgeat. I've tried Hamakua Coast "Premium" and it's god awful. It's basically a floral perfume-y mess that tastes ever so vaguely like a nut. Does anyone have a different brand that they've used and liked?

Yes, I know that it would be more authentic and better if I made my own, but tracking down unsalted macadamia nuts locally has proven tricky. I want to find something premade if at all possible.

Is macadamia nut syrup the same as orgeat?

Each Orgeat is made using the same high-quality ingredients, such as pure Cane Sugar and Orange Blossom Water. The Macadamia Nut Syrup uses Macadamia Nuts rather than Almonds, of course. Each comes in a 375 ml plastic bottle that will last for quite a while for home cocktail use.

What is the origin of orgeat?

The word "orgeat" has French origins and has been interpreted by scholars to mean "barley water." As research revealed, orgeat began as a barley oil and water emulsion that over time had almond oil added to help with the bland flavor.
