Baltimore’s 2022-2023 Wine FestivalIn 2022, the American Cancer Society will hold its 23rd annual Taste for Life, a weekend-long celebration of fine wine and food. The event is set to take place on Sunday, June 26, at the Horseshoe Casino Baltimore. Tickets will include access to over 50 wine tastings, heavy hors d’oeuvres from top-name restaurants, and a live and silent auction. All proceeds benefit the American Cancer Society’s efforts to fight cancer. The event is an ALL-YOU-CAN-TASTE (AYTC) wine and food celebration. Visitors can taste hundreds of different wines from around the world, while also enjoying local food and craft vendors. Admission is $42 for general admission and $75 for VIP admission. The festival runs from 1:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday. The festival also features food and entertainment for the whole family. Tickets are available at the Baltimore Wine & Food Festival website. St. MichaelsMaryland hosts two popular wine festivals. The National Harbor Wine & Food Festival is held in National Harbor, Maryland, on the banks of the Potomac River. This annual event brings world-class chefs and food artisans together to sample over 150 wines, beers, and spirits. It is free to attend, but ticketed events are available for those who would like to experience the full array of offerings. Anderson ValleyIf you’re interested in attending a wine festival in Maryland, you should know that many of them have wine shops. You can even buy fine wines and craft beer. Most festivals have picnic tables where you can relax and enjoy the Maryland wine. Some festivals even provide blankets and chairs for you to sit and relax, while sipping on your favorite wine. However, you should know that these tickets will be priced higher than they were in the past due to additional taxes. Art & Wine Festival in SykesvilleThe Art & Wine Festival in Sykesville is a unique event that will showcase the best Maryland wineries, along with those from around the world. In addition to the award-winning wines, there are also great food vendors and live music to enjoy. And, if all that wasn’t enough, the event will be free to attend, thanks to a free shuttle from downtown Sykesville to the event’s overflow parking area. Frederick Wine FestivalThe Frederick Wine Festival is a celebration of the region’s innovative wineries. The event features critically acclaimed and diverse wine selections that are best enjoyed while paired with delectable bites from local chefs. Whether you enjoy a glass of wine on its own or enjoy the experience with friends, this annual event will satisfy your palate. The Frederick Wine Festival was a hit with thousands of attendees. Unlike most wine festivals, this one did not have over-the-top activities. Neither was it a converted cow pasture, and the organizers seemed to know what they were doing. Chef Chris Spear, the culinary instructor and the man behind the Perfect Little Bites blog, is the driving force behind the festival. During my visit, I was able to meet some of the people behind the festival. The Frederick Wine Festival features wines from local wineries and other Maryland wineries. The event will also feature local food and craft vendors. There will also be live music, backyard games, and more. Tickets start at $40. You can also buy a souvenir wine glass and sample wine from different wineries during the event to take back home. Garagiste Festival at St. MichaelsThe 2022-2023 Garagiste Festival at Saint Michaels, MD, is the only event that combines wine and food pairings. The festival will take place over two days and will feature a number of events, including winemaker dinners and the annual Garagiste Wine Club Awards ceremony. The Garagiste Wine Club is a nonprofit organization that supports the education of future winemakers and industry workers. This festival will feature the best micro-production wines from around the world, including the best from Napa and Sonoma counties. The festival also features a seminar on ancient wine-making techniques. Besides wine tasting, the festival will also feature a seminar on ancient wine-making traditions. The festival will take place at the Glendale Civic Auditorium, and you can check out the event’s full schedule and tickets. Maryland Wine FestivalThe Maryland Wine Festival offers the visitors easy access to artisan vendors, as well as live music, and tastings. In addition, there will be plenty of great food and beverage options available throughout the festival. A pass to the festival also allows you to sample the wine from as many as 11 different wineries. PassesExplorer Passes include a 16-ounce wine glass for sampling. In addition, they allow you to access the newly installed Maryland Wine Explorer, located near the Farm Museum’s main entrance. It will feature dedicated tasting experiences and upgraded amenities. In addition to eight additional wineries, the program will feature shaded seating areas and private air-conditioned restrooms. Maryland Wine Festival passes also grant you access to the festival’s main field. This area will be filled with local eateries and wineries, plus live music and juried artisan vendors. Festival pass holders will also receive a larger tasting glass and can participate in blind tastings. A VIP pass will also provide access to an exclusive tasting room called Hilltop Hangout, which will feature more than 40 different samples of Maryland wines.
