According to Hill, the ingredients to look for in hair growth shampoo include but are not limited to Brazillian ginseng, essential orange, and lavender oils, as well as peppermint, rosemary, ashwagandha, and camellia. These naturally-derived plant-based ingredients contain hair-strengthening and hair-boosting properties that deeply detoxify, bulk up the look of limp locks, and improve hair density.
Looking for products with biotin and keratin and staying away from sulfates can also be beneficial in tackling hair loss.
Though, Hill notes, that it's important to remember that "shampoos do not grow hair, rather they are formulated to support the scalp and hair follicle as one step into mitigating hair thinning and hair loss."
