Looking for advice and understanding on setting tire pressure. Just went from the stock BFG KO2’s 315/70/17 C to Nitto Ridge Grapplers 35/12.5/17 E. OEM tire pressure recommendation is 38psi. Local tire shop who installed the RG’s recommended 50psi which seems high? Last edited: Oct 1, 2021

But there’s no freakin way I ran 50 in those suckers. About 37-38 was the sweet spot
Tire shops always balloon out the tires to whatever it
says on the sidewall. Just under 40 should work
What others have said. Stick with 38ish psi I have ran all ranges C D and E tires on several different raptors. Stick with 35-40 and leave it alone.
I ran mine at 38 on my jeep. Loved them. Trying the Falken AT3W this time on the raptor.
*I'm not a mechanic by trade* But I took a shop class in college a long time ago and I remember them telling us in most cases you should still use the same pressures indicated on the door jamb sticker of the vehicle. Most common exception would be when towing or hauling a significant amount of weight you'd want to add air to the back tires. Following this rule all these
years, I've never had issues with uneven tire wear caused by tire pressure.
BFG doesn’t seem to have the same information as easily accessible on their website. Is it a correct statement to say the BFG KO2’s C are rated for a max load of 2,536 @ 45 psi?
it depends. tire pressure isn’t an answer, it’s a tool to achieve specific goals. off-road? air it way down. think what you are doing, and what you’re trying to accomplish. the answer becomes easier.
that all said, 50psi is weapons grade dumb
I chalked mine and 45 psi seems to be it. How much air should I run in Nitto Ridge Grappler?Full Access Member

Is 40 PSI too much for 33 PSI tires?Specifically, the level of 40 psi can be suitable for passenger cars or sports cars. But this is too high for small cars with a recommendation below 35 psi, while 40 psi is too low for large trucks. The recommended level for the tires of famous sports cars and passenger cars is between 32 -40 psi.
What PSI should I run my 35s at?You should be running around 26-28 psi at most. With 36 psi it's going to ride terrible. I have run 26 psi in all of my 35" tires for years and years now. Done plenty of chalk tests too, and 26 psi is the sweet spot.
