Well, depending on income, the $8k property tax is net-net cheaper than paying income tax. That also applies in MA vs. NH. It's almost always cheaper to live in NH, because if you can afford a $500-$600-$700k house, your household income is likely high. Logically, then, you're going to pay a lot (~5% income tax).
