I undid the base mounts to bedline the interior of a jeep. And it retracted up like normal. Now. It won't budge. It didn't click when going up. It extends and retracts about 1.5". But that's it. Neither light pulling or hard pulling makes a difference. Both the rears did this.
I pulled them off the jeep to try and take them apart. But I can't figure out how to get the actual thing apart.

Tom knows how they come
apart, so does Inigo Montoya. They've pulled them apart and made them work again. You know how to get ahold of each of them.

This is the rears though. Not the front. They did the fronts. As far as I can remember. The rears aren't dirty at all.

I did the same with mine when I bedlined my interior. I don't remember what made them work again but I did get them to extend and it wasn't anything worth remembering! Keep trying.

Rubber mallet our take the little white plastic cover off. That is where the little ball is that locks them in place is
located. They get dirt in them and make the tolerance too close for it to unlock.

I just threw a set of those away when I moved. I never had a problem with the rears so I never took them apart. If you have them out of the jeep then mb give them a good rinsing out so you can get any dirt out of them. Good luck.

Pour some rubbing alcohol in the mechanism. There might be some dirt in there. It won't hurt. And it's a cheap fix.

I just saw three people jogging outside my window and it inspired me... to get up and close the blinds.

Where should I pour some in?
There really isn't a like...opening in the mechanism.
