Goal

The E-Verify Client Company Identification Number is a number that the employer may need to provide as proof of E-Verify usage. For example, F-1 students applying for a STEM OPT extension must provide their employer’s E-Verify company ID number or valid E-Verify client company ID number on their Form I-765, Application for Employment Authorization, in order to be granted the STEM OPT extension.

The E-Verify client company ID number consists of four to seven numerical characters.

Client Admin

A client admin can view the E-Verify Client Company Identification Number on the employer page.

  1. Log in as a client admin.
  2. Select the employer.

Note that since Mitratech Tracker is an E-Verify employer agent, the "Company ID Number" is specific to Mitratech Tracker.

E-Verify is an internet-based system operated by USCIS in partnership with the Social Security Administration to help employers determine the employment eligibility of their employees. You can find more general information about EVerify here: www.uscis.gov/everify. All potential STEM OPT employers must participate in E-Verify.

If you are a student applying for the STEM OPT extension, to find out your employer's E-Verify number for your I-765, contact your STEM OPT Employer's Human Resources team to get the number--they are the best source to give you the correct information. Do not attempt to look up the E-Verify number from some other source (i.e. Googling it) as this could result in a wrong or outdated number of your I-765.

Also, it's very important to note that an E-Verify # and an EIN # are two different numbers--don't mix them by accident!

Use the E-Verify search tool to find employers who are currently enrolled in E-Verify. Your search will display the following information:

  • Employer name  The name the employer used when they enrolled in E-Verify. This can be the business’ legal name, a trade name, or an abbreviation.
  • Doing Business As (DBA) name The name an employer uses publicly. The public may see the DBA, but the employer may have used another name when they enrolled in E-Verify.
  • Account Status – Indicates whether the account is currently enrolled or terminated.
  • Enrollment date – The date the E-Verify Memorandum of Understanding is signed.
  • Termination Date – The E-Verify Memorandum of Understanding termination date.
  • Workforce size – Appears as long as the employer reported they have at least five employees.
  • Number of hiring sites The locations where employers hire employees and where they complete Form I-9.
  • Hiring site locations (by state) – The geographic location(s) of hiring sites, by state, reported by the employer.

Parameters:

  • USCIS updates the search tool data every quarter. However, employer status may be updated as needed.
  • Employers report their own data at the time they enroll in E-Verify. The accuracy and completeness of the data depend on what was submitted by employers at the time of enrollment and as reported throughout the employer’s relationship with E-Verify.
  • Review Employer Data Parameters
