You might be wondering if real snow is safe to eat. Here’s a bit of information I found on consuming fresh snow in this type of recipe. Read through this article and see what you think. *Eat snow at your own risk.

TIP: If you know it’s going to snow, why not set out a bowl to collect it.

SNOW CREAM INGREDIENTS

  • 8 cups freshly fallen, clean snow
  • 10oz sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Sprinkles
  • Large bowl

Tip: Put the bowl in the freezer for a bit before collecting snow so that your main ingredient stays chilled longer!

STEP 4: Your ice cream will probably look soupy. Mix in another 4 cups of fresh snow and scoop out with an ice cream scoop. The texture of the snow cream should be similar to fresh churned ice cream.

Add a toppings bar for an extra fun treat!

  • Fruit (Strawberry topped snow ice cream is a favorite, even frozen fruit works)
  • Chocolate Syrup (Carmel works as well!)
  • Sprinkles
  • Crumbled Cookies (Oreos of course!)

It’s time to do a taste test! Of course your snow cream is easily customized with all sorts of flavors and toppings! What flavor will you try?

What is snow cream made of?

What is snow ice cream made of? I love how simple snow ice cream is! It's made using only four ingredients: evaporated milk, sugar, vanilla, and snow! Evaporated milk will make it nice and creamy, while sugar sweetens it and vanilla gives it that nutty vanilla bean flavor you love in vanilla ice cream.

Is it safe to make snow ice cream?

Your only chance of finding or making snow cream is during or after a snowfall. It's one of the easiest desserts you'll ever make (most recipes call for some combination of snow, sugar, and cream), and not only is it safe to eat, but it's also about as "farm-to-table" as you can get in the middle of the winter.
