In 2009, Honda unveiled the second generation of the Honda Pilot, bringing in a number of new tech features, a more powerful engine, and extra cargo space. The 2009-2015 Honda Pilots come in four trim levels - LX, EX, EX-L, and Touring - all of which are powered by a 250 hp 3.5-liter V6 VTEC engine. For the 2015 Honda Pilot, an additional trim level, the SE trim, was introduced. All trims and year models of the second-generation Honda Pilot offer 87 cubic feet of cargo space.
The second-generation Honda Pilot saw its first significant facelift it 2012 when Honda updated the Pilot's interior, changed the design of its bumper, introduced new alloy wheels, and redesigned the front fascia. The Honda Pilot specs of the 2013 Honda Pilot saw some upgrades as well with Honda introducing a rear backup camera, tri-zone climate control, and 8-inch LCD screen, and hands-free calling to all trims on the 2013 model. The 2015 Honda Pilot with a 3.5L six-cylinder engine gives owners an estimated 18 mpg in the city and 25 mpg on the highway.1
2009-2015 Honda Pilot Trim Levels
These model years give you the option of four trims (five trims for the 2015 model) including:
- LX - cruise control, climate control system with rear vents, power doors and windows; 2013-2015 LX models also include a rear backup camera, hands-free calling, tri-zone climate control, and an eight-inch LCD screen
- EX - Keyless entry, multi-function steering wheel, automatic climate control, power adjustable driver's seat, and more
- EX-L - DVD entertainment system available, navigation system available, leather upholstery, and power tailgate
- Touring - standard DVD entertainment system, trailer harness, and standard navigation system
- SE (2015 Honda Pilot only) - available SiriusXM® Radio, one-touch power moonroof,18-inch alloy wheels, and a 115-volt power outlet
2016-2018 Honda Pilot Trim Levels
The Honda Pilot is in its third generation. Honda began producing the third generation of the Honda Pilot in 2016, equipping the SUV with a new 280 hp 3.5-liter V6 engine, a sleeker exterior design, and a wide range of new technology features. The 2016 Honda Pilot with 4WD, and a 3.5L six-cylinder engine gets an estimated 19 mpg in the city and 26 mpg on the highway.1 The Pilot also offers the capability to tow. The 2016 Honda Pilot for example, can tow up to an estimated 5,000 pounds.2
The third-generation Honda Pilot comes in five trim levels and features a wide range of technology options depending on the trim that you select including lane keeping assist, adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, and forward collision warning.
The 2016 Honda Pilot, 2017 Honda Pilot, and 2018 Honda Pilot come in five trim levels including:
- LX - push button start,6-speed automatic transmission, 4.2-inch multi-information display, a capless fuel filter, and more
- EX - remote start,Honda LaneWatch™, eight-inch touchscreen display, LED daytime running lights, and more
- EX-L - power tailgate, one-touch second-row seats, heated front seats, available navigation system, and more
- Touring - nine-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters, Blu-ray™ rear entertainment system, satellite-linked navigation system, two-position memory driver's seat, and more
- Elite - blind spot information system, heated steering wheel, 2nd row captain's chairs, panoramic roof, rain-sensing windshield wipers, and more
