Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good value The mower was easy to assemble and operate. It runs smoothly and has plenty of power in the self-propelled mode. At the same time, it is light enough to maneuver around obstacles and back up in the manual mode.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Artee from Very Disappointed Bought this mower in September of 2020 and used it about 5 times before I stored for the winter. It ran good and started in 1 -2 pulls before storing it for winter. I needed to use it in spring of 2021 and put fresh 91 octane gas in it and started in a few pulls. Used it for about 10 minutes and then turned it off. Went back to restart it and it would not start. Pulled it over 10 + times and it finally started then only ran for a minute or two and stalled. If it does start it runs really rough and idles real low then stalls. This mower is only 6 months old and should not have any problems because it is hardly used. If I could take it back to the place of purchase I would and tell them to keep it but I only have a 30 day return policy if it wasn't used. Will not be buying a craftsman mower again.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Brando2893 from New mower won’t start Purchased this mower in the later part of 2020 maybe mowed with it a handful of time. Worked great. Fast forward spring 2021, I pull mower from storage and it fires right up but begins to idle low and acts like it’s going to shut off. It also from time to time would pour out white smoke. I checked the oil level and it was correct. Now my mower won’t even start. This is ridiculous that I’m having these issues with a mower that’s not even a year old. I’ll never in life buy a Craftsman again.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Alex D from Not impressed Was given this lawnmower as a gift for becoming a first-time homebuyer, super thrilled because everyone needs a mower! I’ve had nothing but issues. It has been smoking nearly every time I’ve used it this year and now it just completely crapped out and shut off after two passes on my lawn. In my opinion, a mower should last more than a couple years before having to replace again. Not impressed and wouldn’t recommend this model.

Rated 1 out of 5 by NJFA from Worst mower I have ever purchased! I have used this mower a handful of times and have had nothing but issues with it and now it will not start! I purchased this mower at the end of July 2020, it ran terribly I have changed everything recommended and still sounded like crap and now it won’t even start. Total waste of money!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by Alex C from The worst I just bought this lawn mower last year, almost to the date and when I went to start it up, it wouldn’t. Finally got it to start and just shut off. I have had lawn mowers that lasted years. Only one winter and this lawn mower doesn’t even want to turn on.

What kind of oil does a Craftsman self propelled lawn mower take?

SAE 10W-30 4-Cycle Lawn Mower Oil (20 oz) | CRAFTSMAN.

Why won't my Craftsman self propelled push mower start?

There may be old or bad fuel in the carburetor float bowl. Over time, some of the ingredients in the fuel may evaporate, leaving behind a thicker, stickier substance. This sticky fuel can clog up the carburetor and prevent the engine from starting. If the carburetor is clogged, try cleaning it with carburetor cleaner.

Are Craftsman lawn mowers good quality?

This lawn and garden equipment company, a Sears subsidiary, offers entry-level and mid-range riding mowers and other tools. Quality construction: Craftsman has a reputation for quality parts, winning awards from Popular Mechanics and other organizations.
