while you're on the go. Many Chase credit cards, such as the Chase Freedom Flex℠ and the Ink Business Cash® Credit Card, are marketed as
cash-back credit cards. Their potential return rates are high, as well — up to 5% cash back — making them very enticing for just about anyone. But these cards are even better than Chase makes them sound: They actually
earn Chase Ultimate Rewards® points which you can redeem for cash back at 1 cent per point. In other words, these cards actually earn up to 5 Chase points per dollar. Chase points are more valuable than cash back because you can transfer them to airline and hotel partners for huge value — but only if you have certain cards. Insider's Featured Rewards Credit Cards

Insider's valuations estimate that Chase points are worth an average of 1.8 cents each when you transfer them to Chase's airline and hotel partners. That means earning 5 points per dollar is tantamount to earning 9% back in travel. To unlock this ability, however, you'll need to have one of the following cards:
- Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card
- Chase Sapphire Reserve®
- Ink Business Preferred® Credit Card
By simply transferring the rewards you earn with Chase's "cash back" cards to one of the above cards, you'll instantly unlock the ability to transfer your points to airlines and hotels. It's as easy as transferring money between a savings account and a checking account.
Here's a step-by-step look at how to transfer Chase points between credit cards.

1. Log into the Chase Ultimate Rewards portal
You can either head directly to the Chase Ultimate Rewards portal or navigate there from your account page. Just log into your Chase account and click on a Chase Ultimate Rewards earning credit card. Then look for the "Redeem" link with the amount of Chase points the card holds.
ChaseStep 2. Choose your Chase card
You'll now see a list of all your Chase Ultimate Rewards-accruing credit cards. You'll be brought to the Ultimate Rewards dashboard of whichever card you select.
Choose any card. You don't have to view the account of the card with the points you want to transfer.
ChaseStep 3. Click "Combine Points"
We're now looking at the Chase Freedom Unlimited®'s Ultimate Rewards landing page. Click the "Earn/Use" button near the top left corner of the page to view a drop-down menu. Click on the last button labeled "Combine Points."
ChaseStep 4. Combine your points
You can now see all your Ultimate Rewards credit cards on the screen. Simply choose the card that's got the points you want to transfer and then the card which will be the destination of your points.
We'll move the 74 points from the Chase Freedom Unlimited® to the Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card. This will instantly unlock the ability to transfer those 74 points to airline and hotel partners.
ChaseStep 5. Specify the number of points you want to transfer
You don't have to transfer all of your points — you can choose any amount. Enter the number of points you want to transfer, and then click "Review."
The site will ask you one more time if you're sure you want to convert your points, and will then process your request.
ChaseStep 6. View the confirmation screen
Chase will confirm your transfer. If you change your mind for some reason and want to transfer the points back, you can do so at any time. You can freely transfer points between Ultimate Rewards accounts.
It's worth noting that this is not the case when transferring Chase points to airline and hotel programs. Once you transfer your points to a travel partner, you cannot transfer them back to Chase. They're gone forever.
ChaseChase points transfers between credit cards frequently asked questions (FAQ)
Unless you have no travel aspirations, it's absolutely worth transferring your points from a no-annual-fee Chase Ultimate Rewards points-earning card to one with an annual fee. This will give you the ability to transfer your points to loyalty programs like Hyatt, United Airlines, Southwest, Singapore Airlines, and many more. Again, Insider estimates the average value of Chase points when redeemed this way is 1.8 cents — far more than the 1 cent you'll receive when redeeming for cash.
You can transfer Chase points to the credit card of one person in your household. If you've linked the person to your account, their card should appear as a destination on the transfer points page.
You can transfer points to the airline or hotel loyalty program of one authorized user in your household.
In the top menu of your Chase Ultimate Rewards account is a button that says "Transfer to Travel Partners." This will only appear on the account of an annual fee-incurring card such as the Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card.
You'll find a list of all of Chase's transfer partners. After you input your loyalty number and link your airline or hotel account with the Chase Travel Portal, you'll be able to transfer your points.
