Can You Wear Mascara With A Lash Lift?

Yes, you can wear mascara with a lash lift, however, it is better not to do so.

The continuous use of mascara may wear out the procedure, causing lashes to lose their form quicker.

Note I am not saying that using mascara will directly wear off your lash lift, but with time, it may happen

How To Wear Mascara On Lifted Lashes?

If you have lifted lashes and still want to wear mascara, you need to be careful with some aspects.

Firstly, make sure not to use waterproof mascara.

If you are attending an occasion where you may cry or sweat or really need your makeup neat for longer, give preference to water-resistant mascara.

Even though water-resistant mascaras are better than waterproof mascara, I would love them both at all.

For normal everyday situations use normal mascara or clear mascara, which will work fine.

My recommendation is not to use mascara as much as possible, as you won’t need them anyway.

But realistically speaking, there are some special moments that we value a good make on.

If you still opt to wear lash mascara, use it only in very special events and situations, so you can keep your lift lash for longer.

In a nutshell:

  • Avoid waterproof mascara
  • If still need strong mascara, give preference to water resistant mascara
  • For all other situations use normal / regular mascara or clear mascara
  • It is best to avoid mascara at all as you won’t need it anyways
  • Make sure to clean it the right way

Take an extra dose of care while washing your lashes, as with time, rubbing it may contribute to wearing off the beautiful lash curls.

How To Remove Mascara Off Lifted Lashes?

You should clean lift lashes more or less the same way you would clean eyelash extensions.

It seems that’s a little easier than cleansing extensions because you don’t need to worry about the lash bond.

But with lift lashes, you need to think all the time you don’t want your lash curl to lose its format.

First of all, avoid rubbing your eyes at all costs. Be very gentle and with clean hands, do the following:

  1. Dip a cotton swab into an oil free makeup remover and gently apply the product on your lashes from the lash line all the way to the lash tip. Do this a few times until you find lashes are covered with the remover
  2. Wet a clean cotton swab and manage to take the excess of makeup remover off. Repeat this process until you take as much mascara as possible.
  3.  With a lash brush (lash wand) apply a lash shampoo and comb it from the lash line towards the lash tip. Wash the wand and the excess of the shampoo off. Repeat this process until you are sure you removed the mascara as much as possible
  4. In case you still need to remove excess residual, double cleanse, by gently applying lash soap with your finger tips. Make sure you don’t rub your eyes.
  5. Comb your lashes with a clean dry lash brush wand and apply lash serum

Eye Mascara Alternatives To Enhance Your Lashes

I know that eyelash mascara is lovely and all, but the best way to keep your lashes for longer, it is better to use it only on special occasions.

For your everyday routine, you can easily boost your lashes with some alternatives that won’t harm you at all.

The good news is there are alternatives to eye mascara to enhance your lashes even more and make them pop.

In fact, many of the alternatives I’m listing here will actually help your lashes become even healthier.

1. Latisse

Latisse is a treatment that enhances lash growth and thickness, makes it more intense, and revives the lash pigmentation.

Even though you should be able to experience some results right at the beginning of the Latisse treatment, you should wait around two months until you truly notice greater results.

If you want to use Latisse for lash enhancement, you should apply the product on your lash baseline every day.

Make sure you are not wearing lenses and that your eyes are completely cleansed after the application.

Please consult a professional before considering using this treatment.

2. Hair Growth Lash Serums

HOW TO USE: Apply the serum on your lashes and With the help of an eyelash, brush comb them thoroughly.

Lash Serums are great in the short and long term as they look great the moment you apply it to your lashes.

In the long term, they will bring a lot of benefits for your lashes, helping them get thicker and stronger.

Make sure these serums are well recommended. Also, make sure you don’t let them get into the eyes.

This is because more sensitive eyes may end up getting itchy.

3. Lash Tinting

I was not quite sure if I would recommend lash tinting, but this is one option you should know about.

Lash Tinting can be applied in the same lash lift application session and should be applied at the end.

This can be useful for those with pale lashes because it will make your eyes pop and stand up.

However one should be really careful when deciding on lash tinting because products used in this procedure can irritate your eyes.

I also had the information that depending on the type of irritation, it can cause blindness.

I would not go for that, but there are places that use a material made out of vegetables that can be less irritating.

The idea here is to find a very reputable professional that knows what they are doing.

Also, make sure to find someone with really great references.

4. Aloe Vera Gel

By using aloe vera gel you can make your lashes glossy and treat them at the same time.

It also protects your lashes, as aloe vera is antibacterial and antifungal that combats infections and lash loss.
