Almost 3 years ago to the day, our family dog was born. It started with a recommendation from a work associate who has one of Tommy’s dogs. After speaking with Tommy for a couple of months we decided a Boykin pup from his kennel was the best choice for us.

Since this decision and the confirmation that a litter was on the way in January 2020, Tommy has been available anytime a question arose. I have enjoyed trading communication with Tommy over the years from the picture after a good hunt to a quick training question.

Fast forward a few years, Banks is the perfect mixture of a family, upland and waterfowl dog I have seen. He has successfully passed multiple upland and retriever hunt test with mostly natural ability and instinct. I would recommend Tommy and MaxRBoykin to anyone that is looking to get a Boykin.

We are located just outside of Charlotte, N.C.. Have been involved with the Boykin Spaniel Society since 1996 when we got our first Boykin. I grew up in Camden but never had the privilege of owning a Boykin Spaniel as a child. We lived in Missouri when we got our first Boykin (hence Show-Me Boykins) and did a lot of pheasant and Chucker hunting in Iowa and Kansas. The Boykin is a natural upland flushing breed, the trainer (me) had a hard time messing up this natural instinct. We have been involved with the BSS National Trials since 1996 and my lack of expertise shows as a trainer but we have a lot of fun. Our dogs are HIP OFA, Heart OFA, EYE CERF, CEA, DM and EIC once of age. We have 3-4 litters a year and prices as of 2022 are $2500. This is not a job or work for us, so if we do not have the puppy you are looking for, we will be happy to help you find a puppy from a reputable breeder. We do not maintain a waiting list but if you would like to be contacted about pups once they are born, please send a text to make us aware of your need. We try to have two litters of pups in the fall and two in the spring each year. Our next litter will be ready spring of 2022.Text is the preferred mode of communication. Email is ok. Voice Mail is worst since I have to write stuff down and I'm often driving when I listen to my voice mails. 704-564-9792 Text Please You can also see many of our Boykins and other owners of Show Me Boykins at Facebook Show Me Boykins. This is a couple of my thoughts on Boykin Spaniels for what it"s worth. 1) Try to find a breeder that only breeds Boykin Spaniels. They are whelped and socialized very different from other breeds. 2) Considers a male. It has been our experience that the make has a more social personality, more eager to please, less hard headed and loving. All these we feel makes them easier to train for us. 3) Do not buy a dog that sire and dam have not been health tested for the recommended 7 health certifications listed above. The Boykin Spaniel Society and Foundation help offset the cost of testing and at most would cost a breeder 1/2 of what one puppy sells for to test both sire and dam. Confirm and verify. 4) If you get a Boykin Spaniel and are not given a contract/guarantee state what health test have or have not been done on sire or dam, please contact the Boykin Spaniel Society and provide a written notice. BSS Code of Ethics require this to be provided to new owners in writing

Bob is an ethical breeder. He is organized and will communicate and spend time with you making sure you and his pups are the right fit. Our Remy has been a joy so far. He is healthy and full of life. He turns heads everywhere we go, but just as important he is driven to retrieve and loves to swim even at 12 weeks! Great breeder and great dogs!

I adopted my pup, Show Me Mia Rey, last April and am just thrilled! Bob helped me choose the perfect dog for me from the litter and she has turned out to be a perfect companion and is on her way to becoming a sterling retriever.

We have not met, but I have heard great things about you. My family and I are the owners of Sadie Smith who was born in the first litter from Tabby Langley (Laney and Scamp). If I recall correctly, Tabby got Scamp from you so Sadie is like extended family.

Last year, we were at a soccer game in Charlotte and someone came up to us and asked if got Sadie from Boykin Bob, I told them no, but that she came from the same line.

We love our dog so much and our lives are so much more full with Sadie in our family.

Show-Me "Milo" just celebrated his First Birthday last month (07/29/11). He looks and acts exactly like Leo but with Reese's ears. I can't keep him out of the water. In fact, my boys just left on the golf cart to take him to the pond. A bath is only good for an hour around here. He is perfect for my boys...they give out of energy before Milo even thinks about it (and they are 6 and 8 years old)! I mentioned to both boys that we should give Mr. Bob a call to find out what certifications Milo would need in order to breed him so that we could have a "little Milo" one day down the road. Both boys were completely against the idea and looked at me as if I had some how lost my mind to even consider such a thing. So I continued to question them as to why they were so against breeding Milo a few years from now at least once...thinking to myself that they just do not understand. It is really not a big deal at all...or so I thought. Finally after extensive questioning, they responded and I have to admit that it blew me away... They are afraid that Milo will not love them the same. He might love "that girl dog more" and want to stay with her and their puppies. I went over the normal spill about how dogs do not think that way, feeling quite sure this would ease their mind. After a short pause they both looked at me and, my oldest son, explained to me that I just did not get it! Things would be different between them and Milo no matter what and getting a puppy out of it was not worth it since they had the best puppy anyway (wish I could stress how serious both boys were...a childs pereception)!

Bob's pups are very loving and special family members. If you want a hunting buddy...these dogs are equipped beacuse they love you and want to please you all the time.
