2022 subaru wrx front license plate bracket

My 22’ WRX premium that I ordered will be arriving in a couple weeks and was wondering how people were mounting the front license plate? Does it just use two holes in the bumper like the previous one? I would also like to see if anyone tried the last gen tow hook plate mounts that were made by Perrin and Grimmspeed? It would be interesting to see if they look decent. If someone could post your results that would be great! I used the Mycarworx.com before and I loved how clean it looked, but they are not out yet (or ever) for the new gen. Thanks!

I have a 22 WRX Premium and I live in a state where front plates are not required and the bumper does not have holes, but my previous car ('18 STI) did have the holes regardless. So idk if they're gone or they just stopped doing it to all of them regardless of where they were going but I'd lean towards the former.

If you look close are there little dimples to get a screw started like previously?

New to the forums and first WRX. Just picked up my 2022 Premium WRX last week. Has a smooth front bumper but it looks like there are little starter holes for a plate. I should be running front plates, but don't have it in me to put holes in the bumper.

I assume one of the front tow hook bracket mounts would work and have been eyeing them. Nothing for 2022 yet, but I think they have the same thread as size as the 2021. It's just the length that keeps me questioning.

If anyone tries something I would be curious how it turns out.

I believe Subaru supplies front plate brackets now instead of drilling plate straight to bumper. I saw it on all local wrx’s on cargurus.

A little jb weld should do it.

Taking a closer look at the stock Subaru front plate bracket, it looks like that mounts to the bumper with screws. So while the plate screws to the bracket, you still need to put holes in the bumper. I don't really think this is a better option.

The car comes with a bracket you have to drill your bumper to install. Make sure you have 13mm drill bit then you pop in rubber with an insert and screw it on. Looks nice and integrated. Also I watched grimmspeed video and if you buy 15-21 tow hook kit the tow hook mount works with two provided spacers.

I tried a Platypus tow hook bracket for recent WRX/STi models (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01ATSH5JQ) and everything fit, it was just radically short. I need to try and find a standoff that would make it work, but getting the size right will be a pain. If it wasn't going to deform the bumper, I'd drive around like this to piss off the local cops.
