2022 mazda cx-5 jacking points

I'm going to install a trailer hitch on my CX-5 and want to lift up the rear end of the car to give myself more clearance to work. I was going to lift up the rear end and place jack stands at the two rear side jacking points using pinch weld adapters. But to lift up the rear end, can I use the rear differential housing?

A service manual for the older CX-5 shows this to be an acceptable lifting point for AWD cars. It looks like there is a flat U-beam protrusion (circled in red) on the bottom of the differential that seems to be the lifting point.

Has anyone lifted the rear using this central point? Just want to confirm before doing any damage.

TIA!

Jacking up your 2019 Mazda CX-5 can be dangerous if done incorrectly. The video above shows you where the jack location is along with where the jack points and lug nut wrench are located in your CX-5. The video shows how to assemble the components of the jack kit and safety precautions to take when using your jack. Most Mazda jack kits include the jack, a jack handle and a lug nut wrench. If you have a flat tire in your Mazda CX-5, please see our how do I fix a flat tire video.

Use the owner's manual to find the CX-5 jacking points and this video to see additional jacking tips to help minimize the risk of injury. The best way to avoid injury is to never get under your vehicle while it is jacked up, especially if you don't have jack stands positioned in the jack stand points on your CX-5. Remember also, that even if your car is jacked up properly, another car could hit it and knock it over; therefore, be sure to give careful consideration to your environment before raising your car.

Hi there, if you have a handbook it will tell you in there, or if you have a look at the attached picture you can see where the jack should go. Never try to work under the vehicle when supported by a jack... axles stands should be used. Hope this helps

Default CX-5 Rear Lift Point

Hi all. 2017 CX-5, GT AWD. The rear diff case has this square-ish protrusion that hangs down. Can I use this as a lift point? Im not sure how strong that is, and I really dont want to damage that diff housing. I was just going to use a floor jack and maybe a small block of wood. Just need to pull the wheel, and I never, ever, crawl underneath unless I am using jack stands. Just wondering if I could lift the rear using this point. Thanks!

Where are jacking points?

The jacking points for most vehicles are reinforced metal ribs specifically designed to safely lift the vehicle. On most vehicles, there are four jacking points. They're located under the car's rocker panels, just behind the front wheels and just ahead of the rear wheels.

Where do you put the jack on a SUV?

Jack stands must be placed directly under the lifting point. There should be enough room at every jack point to accommodate the stand's grip. When releasing hydraulic pressure from the floor jack, a properly rated jack stand will hold the weight of the car as long as the stand is flat.
